I am a Native Floridian and have spent most of my life in the outdoors. My father was passionate about upland bird hunting and both fresh and salt water fishing. I started accompanying him at a very young age. This was the time when my love affair with bird dogs, quail hunting, fishing and appreciation of nature began. My hobbies include photography, cooking, needlepoint, reading and native plant propagation. My favorite past time is bass fishing. I love the outdoors and much of my time is spent on wildlife habitat development and improvement. I am presently working on Long Leaf Pine restoration in Levy county, Florida where I also run a shooting preserve, Watermelon Pond Plantation, west of the town of Archer. Archer is located in north central Florida. We offer guided quail hunts, Florida Deer hunting, dove hunting and Florida turkey hunting. Osceola turkeys are the main species on our shooting preserve grounds. I also train bird dogs. I breed, raise, train and sell Field English Setters and have been doing so since 1981 at Cedar Ridge Kennels located at my home in Newberry, FL.
